Like her automotive name sake, Barbara Marsh-Wetherell (BMW), is a powerhouse that creatively applies the concept of emotional design to distinctively shape and support corporate image and brand presence at every audience touch point. Her experience-influenced insights infuse market relations programs with a distinctive and consistent current of benefit relations that must be maintained to achieve a long-standing competitive advantage, in a rapidly changing marketplace.

BMW’s seven year driving experience in senior marketing and sales management positions at companies like Mouse Systems Corporation, VideoSeven, Inc., WordTech Systems and ViewStar Corporation, honed her sensitivity to understanding and addressing the often complex, internal issues that underlie most corporate communication programs. This client-side experience demonstrated that the power of strategic marketing and communication was often limited by corporate conventional wisdom. Breaking down corporate silos and instilling the idea that market relations is a foundational concept that must be embraced and practiced each and every day.

In 1989, BMW shifted gears and founded Marsh-Wetherell Market Relations.

Off the corporate track and on the open road, BMW’s passion manifested itself in highly effective, innovative guerilla marketing and public relations programs. Her eclectic approach to strategic communication gave rise to the concept of “TouchPoint Relations™”, the idea of effective co-dependant communications. To bring this concept to life, BMW’s approach to corporate and brand communication reaches beyond traditional public relations to influence advertising, product acquisitions and launches, web design, market development and trade events for technology, e-commerce and service organizations.

The beneficiaries of BMW’s market relations efforts include Borland Software Corporation, Cisco Systems, CompUSA PC, Micronics/Orchid Technology, MPLS Forum, NetDeposit Inc., Numobiq Inc., Nortel Networks (Xros Division), Optical Internetworking Forum, PC-Doctor Inc., Smart Modular Technologies, SUN Microsystems (Tops/Sitka Division), SynchroNet Marine and WordStar International Inc.

BMW holds a B.A. from University of California, Berkeley. She is a long-time resident of Walnut Creek, and sits on several non-profit Boards, which relate to the care of neglected and abused children, and local domestic animals.
